(PSP News) Video: PS Vita Says 'Hello World' Through PSP Emulator - Exophase

Another coder who wishes to remain anonymous has managed to pull off a ‘Hello World’ on PS Vita. While the feat isn’t based on teck4′s earlier exploit , it does share the same approach, in that it executes code from within a PSP environment. Unless there’s a way to break the sandbox, this will not led to native access on the Vita — at least, not by itself. It’d take only a swift patch from Sony to render this useless so there’s not much point in releasing in the wild in its current state, as you can imagine. read more

(PSP News) Sony: We won't make PSP mistakes with PS Vita - SlashGear

Sony has admitted it made a mistake with how PSP games were handled, dropping the ball when the PS3  arrived, and insists that it will not make the same mistake the the PS Vita . The PS Vita went on sale in Japan over the weekend, selling 321,000 units  in its first two days. Meanwhile, Yoshida was at pains to point out that Sony will not be pushing augmented reality  onto PS Vita gamers unnecessarily, despite AR being a key part of what the handheld was designed to support. The company has demonstrated its SmartAR technology  several times this year, eschewing glyphs and instead using face-tracking and other systems. Vita Beaten by PSP in Second Week Sales — Andriasang.com(General)

System falls below 100,000 and is beaten by 3DS, PS3, PSP and Wii. Results for PlayStation Vita’s second week at retail have been released by Media Create. Following a debut of 325,000 units, the system fell last week to 72,479 units and was beaten by all other major platforms. Here’s Media Create’s hardware chart for the week covering December 19 through December 25. Second “hiougi” special attacks, character art, new dungeon gimmicks, and Tales of Xillia’s Milla in the battle coliseum.
