(General) GameSetWatch Swery65's Next Game Is PSP/Vita's Lord of …

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

It is dedicated to collecting curious links and media for offbeat and oft-ignored games from consoles old and new, as well as from the digital download, iOS, and indie spaces. For those anxious to play the next game from Hidetaka ‘Swery65′ Suehiro, who became something of a celebrity among niche gamers after directing cult hit Deadly Premonition, he’s now designing Lord of Apocalypse for PSP and PS Vita. Swery65 and Access Games also worked on the title’s successor, Lord of Arcana , for PSP. Publisher Square Enix will ship this in Japan on December 17 for both PSP and PS Vita (a launch title for the latter) — while it hasn’t announced any plans for a North American or European release, it’s likely Lord of Apocalypse will see an international release like Arcana . Get Ready To Fall in Love with Lumines All Over Again - Kotaku(PSP News)

Puzzle game Lumines , which launched in Japan in December 2004, was the PSP’s killer app. There have been sequels, good sequels, but Lumines hasn’t felt as fresh as it did back in those cold winter months of late 2004 and early 2005. The individual blocks that players must stack and clear are rendered in 3D—something that can be seen when moving the blocks quickly right to left and the perspective shifts ever so slightly. While playing the title’s short demo, I could feel myself going back into that zone that should be so familiar to Lumines players—the one where your eyes go out of focus a wee bit, and you become entranced by the music, the images, and the falling Lumines blocks. When players start the game, they must select an Avatar ability and keep said ability until they clear all the stages. read more

Kratos Needs to Pay a Visit to Jack Nicholson - TotalPlayStation.com- Topic: PSP News

The $40 price tag gets you two great games in 1080p HD and 3D, trophies, and, most importantly, the right analog stick. Chains of Olympus serves as a prequel to the very first game and Ghost of Sparta slots between God of War and God of War II . Both games look great with their HD upgrades, though GoS puts CoO to shame. Sure, if you hate quicktime events you will probably loathe both of these games, but, if you hate them so much you probably know to avoid this series like itās the plague. I can honestly say that I prefer these two to the previous collection and would recommend it, along with God of War III as the best that the series has to offer. It’s basically the same exact scheme you’ve become accustomed to in other God of War games. read more
