THDCIL focuses on PSP scheme of Tehri project - Business Standard(PSP News)

After commissioning the second phase of the Tehri dam — the 2400 mega watt (mw) Tehri multipurpose hydel project, the THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) is now focusing on the third and last phase of the dam through pumped a storage plant (PSP) scheme to generate 1000 mw of power. More For this purpose, THDCIL has signed an agreement of Rs 1842 crore with a consortium of power majors like Alstom Hydro France, Alstom Project India Ltd and Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) for engineering procurement and construction (EPC)/turnkey execution of Tehri pumped storage plant (4×250 mw). The Tehri dam reservoir shall function as the upper reservoir and Koteshwar reservoir as the lower balancing reservoir. The company commissioned the second phase of the Tehri project — 400 mw Koteshwar dam to add a total of 1400 mw to its capacity in March. read more

(PSP News) Sony Announces Cheap, €99 PSP Without Wi-Fi for Europe - Tom's Guide

Sony has said that it will soon release a cheaper, Europe-only, Wi-Fi-free version of the PSP. Set for release in only Europe, the new PSP, dubbed the PSP-E1000, does not have Wi-Fi and will be available in PAL regions with a â’¬99 price tag. Even so, the PSP has been out for what must be over 6 years, it’s cheap enough as it is so we don’t need a “value” version, losing WiFi is a huge downfall too. For many PSP owners its a machine to play while on the Bus or train, typically these places don’t have Wifi! read more

Designed for folks on a budget, the PSP E-1000 will only be available in Europe and will cost 99 Euros. Games will be played on the E-1000 through UMDs or transferred from the PlayStation Store via Media Go using a computer. With a large catalog of PSP games available for purchase, it looks like Sony doesn’t want it to disappear by letting folks get their hands on a cheaper, inexpensive console to play them on. While it does sound like a good idea, crippling the device by removing its WiFi is going to have a lot of folks complaining. No internet surfing, multiplayer gaming or even downloading games straight onto the device itself. I guess some people can live with that, but is the exclusion of a WiFi radio really worth the low price tag? read more
