Topic: General - PSP's adhocParty system for Europe News | PSP | Eurogamer

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Sony has announced plans to launch the adhocParty system for PSP in Europe. Over on the European PlayStation blog , PSP product manager Adam Grant also details the “house” system that allows you to text and voice chat with your friends, and how lobbies work and things like that. But I don’t want to buy a PS3, just make your mp PSP games work properly! Looks like us Metal Gear Solid fanboys will manage to play Peace Walker online after all. Microsoft take note, never mind your 59 quid 11n adapter, here is a 249 quid wireless base station. Don’t forget to charge people a 30 quid per year subscription for the priviledge of playing online. read more

Tech Test Drive: PSPgo (San Jose Mercury News)- About: PSP News

It’s a sleek redesign of the PSP but with a higher price tag and some interesting issues that may or may not work out well for Sony. In a mixture of movie playback, gaming and general interface navigation, the PSPgo ran for 4 hours and 47 minutes at max brightness with Wi-Fi on. Can a pricier version of the PSP — with no touch screen — and with a smaller screen, awkward placement of analog stick, slow download times for large games, and an inability to play UMD games or use old PSP accessories be attractive to gamers? read more

Topic: PSP News - Braid puzzles PS3 as Pinball Heroes tilt PSP - GameSpot

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Between a pair of belated Xbox 360 ports and the debut of a handful of pinball games, this week’s PlayStation Store update is a blast from the past. At the top of the list is Braid, GameSpot’s Best Original Downloadable Console Game of 2008 . Released on Xbox 360 last August (with a version for PCs and Macs earlier this year), Braid tells the story of Tim and his quest for an unnamed princess, an endeavor aided by his ability to manipulate time in a variety of ways. I would have liked a demo of Braid though; it’s hard to judge a game based on hype and reviews alone and the price is a little high for a downloadable game that I’m told is really short.
