New MGS Peace Walker Demo Launching With PSP Go (1up.com)- Topic: PSP News

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

It seems that the demo will be based on the one that was at the Tokyo Game Show (and currently available for download around the Internet), but will feature new content. It’s pretty easy to grab even if you don’t own a PSP Go, so Metal Gear Solid fans should go and check it out. I have a PSP, not the new Go version, so I have to wait it seems for the American release, and I’m very excited, though I have to admit, very smart of them to package that in, almost tempts me to pick up the PSP Go just to play that! I still haven’t got my hands on a PS3, so I don’t know what happens in Metal Gear Solid 4, but I do know that I’m very interested to see how Kojima handles the missing storyline of Big Boss, so this game is on my list of games keeping me up at night until its release! read more

Obscure: The Aftermath (PSP) (CNET)- PSP News

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

You control one of six characters trying to survive, and you’ll have an AI companion in tow. Because you’ll never be fighting alone, decent companion AI would seem to be a must for this game. That minor difficulty is more than made up for by the sheer joy of not having to share the same screen with an AI companion (though characters must stay in the same room) as well as by having a companion with a functional brain who can use the right weapon when asked to and doesn’t feel the need to constantly go rushing pell-mell into the mouth of madness. The monsters and characters are all animated well, and the development team even went so far as to make each of the college students you’ll control walk, move, and fight in a different manner. The game controls well, and if combat gets annoying occasionally because of subpar AI, it isn’t anything that can’t be worked around or, better yet, cured through Co-Op mode. read more
