DiRT 2 for the Sony PSP is the small screen adaptation of the long-running Colin McRae series of rally racing games. The game has some solid menu music, but races are devoid of anything but the whirring of engines and the clanking of suspension systems. Break it up a bit, give the player the option to turn on the music while racing. The cars feel like they are lacking something and sometimes the movement just doesn’t feel right, like something is off with the vehicles guts. With a couple tweaks here and there, DiRT 2 is looking like a solid counterpart to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions (which we previewed this week.
