(General) Sony Ericsson working on a PSP phone, minus the Ericsson?

Look, we’ve heard our fair share of PSP phone rumors , and there’s really no reason to trust this one any further than your average baseless musings, but if Marketing Week’s “sources in Japan and Korea” can be trusted, Sony’s PSP phone could be hitting shelves as soon as Christmas 2009. What does seem clear to these shady sources is that Sony won’t be forking over the PlayStation branding to its Sony Ericsson partnership, and instead will build its PSP phone all by its lonesome. Any PSP phone would have to be at least 2/3 the size of a PSP and a good deal lighter. My opinion on the PSP phone is that they shouldn’t try to make it a real phone. read more

Is it Game Over for Sony's PSP?- About: General

The Playstation Portable handheld gaming system was first released in the United States on March 24, 2005, after being released in Japan the previous December. The ReelGamers editor quickly invested days into the internet, scouring for the greatest homebrew software that would enhance his portable system without corrupting and reducing it to its useless ābrickā form. Half a year later, his PSP now acts as my GPS, a tutor in three different languages (French, Italian, German), a soon-to-be cell phone replacement (the wonders of Skype are highly underrated), and a digital photo album; not to mention a port of PCās SCUMMVM, allowing him to relive all his Monkey Island fan service memories. Sure, on a rare occasion he would spot another user on the bus and be struck with an immediate sense of brotherhood, but for every PSP packed into a studentās backpack or stuffed against a row of textbooks atop a dorm headboard, there were ten DSās of various color schemes floating around. read more
