I dont think Sony will say F U and leave the scene just because 15% of us have hacked PS3′s, yes they will lose some potential income but thats all ready been considered in there budgets prior to even releasing the console. You know what i would agree with you if my ps3 didnt break after i put in sonys GOW3 on release day and now my ps3 wont read any blu ray games or movies. When i call sony to get this corrected they say im a month out of my warranty so i have to pay $160 for them to fix what a sony game did to my ps3, ummmmm how about i just spend 160 on a psjailbreak! Real thing for a Free/ish hack would be the ability to make devices we already have (PSP, iPhone, Android phone, PC running Linux Boot disk, etc) to work as the device and then managed to load a Permanent OS hack so you can still use your device for other things. I think perhaps there is truth on that part but Sony can afterwards file for more court hearings and argue that the device infringes bluray copy protection or some crap and even tho they have failed before its sort of a 50/50 split on that argument. Meanwhile I think as long as the code is legit then the shipments will go out, however future sales in the future could be stopped if court devices its a illegal device. read more
