First up to host the feathery mayhem is Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP), which will soon be embracing the physics-based addiction of Angry Birds as a download purchase through the PlayStation Store’s ever-expanding ‘minis’ portfolio. According to Johnny Coghlan, head of publishing at Chillingo, the PlayStation minis version of Angry Birds will include “all of the content that has made it a record-breaking addictive success,” which means it will challenge players to lob birds at cowering pigs across four game worlds and 120 increasingly difficult levels. Other features reported to be specific to the PlayStation minis edition include, ‘The Big Set Up’ game world, along with an extremely destructive new Angry Bird type known only as ‘Big Brother’. In related news, Variety magazine quotes Finnish developer Rovio Mobile as saying it is currently in discussions with Hollywood executives about the possibility of turning Angry Birds into a movie. read more
