To be honest I like a bit more Sci-fi, fantasy etc in my anime so that is probably why I am not so keen on Death Note which is more of a thriller (if I would put it in any genre). Kemonozune is a great samurai/horror/fantasy anime too, a very original style by Studio 4c too - and whilst I’m mentioning it, one of my favourite (non-ghibli) anime films is from them too, Mind Game - which is phenomenal. When you stop to think about it this means that there pretty much wouldn’t be a market for anime related products at all here if it weren’t for piracy, which pretty much turns conventional logic regarding piracy on its head. Anime and manga are much bigger on the continent than they are in the UK- and considering that the games industry sees Europe as one big market, rather than the eleventy smaller markets it actually is, it’s easier for these companies to release the title in the UK than not. read more
